Desiree Watson, a recognized humanitarian of note, is considered a “branding guru” and an expert on offering the human side of business strategy. She has advised some of the biggest names and institutions in business and education.
She has advised C-level Executives on their approach to Community Social Responsibility (CSR) – an issue she believes every corporation and organization should address. While there is an obligation to Corporate Social Responsibility, supporting the communities we serve and those who support our businesses is equally important.
Also, Watson’s days are filled with advancing the cause of women’s rights and equipping women as they advance their careers, businesses, and communities.
Desiree’s vision is sought after on the international stage, where she influences global policymakers and corporations. A member of the Advisory Board of the United Nations Association of New York, she has also served on the United Nations Association National Council. She is a Charter Member of Leading Women Entrepreneurs, Desiree is an Ambassador of the prestigious Global Wellness Institute (GWI) and has also served on the Advisory Board. She has held key roles as the Chairperson of the 60th Anniversary for the United Nations, Executive VP of the UNA NYC, and a GWD (Global Wellness Day Ambassador.) She is also the Founder of the Essex County Chapter of the WPO (Women Presidents Organization) in West Orange, New Jersey.
She is humbled by the recognition of Women’s “Champion of Change” award and the Commerce Industry Association of New Jersey’s “Champion of Good Works” and “Companies Who Care” awards. She most enjoys elevating cultural conversation. Desiree lives her life to lead by example.
Ngbita Pendje-Wallace has been a communication strategist with over 15 years of experience in the private and non-profit sectors. She has worked for the United Nations, the CFSC Consortium, a non-profit organization specializing in communication for social change, and Agence Thaly International, a communication agency with expertise in communication for development. Ngbita has managed projects, collaborated, and developed management training programs. She has worked as a Press Officer and led projects for several international organizations, including the African Union Commission, UNDP, Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, UNICEF ESARO, and UNICEF Tunisia.
Ngbita has headed the communications department for Wellness Interactive for over ten years, developing the company’s communication strategy, institutional advertising, and public events.
Liz has a passion for creating fresh, farm-to-table meals together for her family, embracing simple and slow living, and has turned her lifelong hobby and love of second-hand clothing into a successful online shop that makes purchasing unique contemporary and vintage clothing for babies & children simple! (@paper.bag.kids on Instagram) She is a lifelong advocate passionate about our earth and the rights of those who inhabit it.
Liz is our Brand Manager, focusing on connecting and growing our brands digitally. She has worked on many projects, including managing Wellness Interactive’s sustainable apparel brand launched at the Las Vegas PGA Fashion & Demo Experience. She also helped launch the digital Wellness Lounge publication and Wellness Interactive’s growing Shopify website (www.somethinghealthy.shop.) Liz has organized and managed our participation in the annual Global Wellness Day. We were honored to receive an award from CIANJ (Commerce Industry Association New Jersey) for our environmental initiative.
Liz has been a team member for six years.
Charu Suri is a pianist, composer, and journalist who has contributed hundreds of articles to publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveler, Architectural Digest, and The Washington Post; several articles have won journalism awards.
She became the first female Indian American jazz composer to premiere original work at Carnegie all. Her first original album, “Lollipops for Breakfast,” won a Global Music Award, as did her latest releases, “The Book of Ragas,” scored for a trio and a Sufi singer, and The New American Songbook with the vocal talents of Danielle Erin Rhodes. “The Book of Ragas” has been praised by critics as a new sound in jazz. Her work has been performed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and double bassist Edgar Meyer. She is a voting member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMY).
Charu is the Directorial Editor of the Wellness Lounge digital magazine.
Laurel Dowswell is a freelance writer and branding specialist based in Atlanta, GA. In addition to diverse nonfiction and business writing, she is the former Features Editor and contributing writer for Change Seven literary magazine and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her passions include wellness, the natural world, fiction, equality, and social justice.
She has been a content writer for thirteen years and a Copy Editor/Content Writer for Wellness Lounge Magazine since January 2020.
Jade Y. Gunver started her career in Turkey as an announcer at the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation. She transferred in a few years to TV B broadcasting. Gunver was an anchorwoman in prime-time news for many years. She has worked for the United Nations as a TRT Correspondent. She started Promin Video Productions within Promin Computer Technologies Inc., where she began implementing her knowledge and experience. Jade understands how to integrate social media tools into an organization and the challenges and obstacles organizations face regarding social media.
As a visionary, Jade has worked with Wellness Interactive for ten years, managing, promoting, and creating content.
Deborah McDowell-Davis is a passionate and enthusiastic media producer with over 20 years of expertise in creating impactful visual brand solutions for clients. She knows the competitive business environment, can think creatively, and can develop new designs, concepts, and layouts that fit the client’s needs.
Born of Guyanese descent, Deborah was honored when she was consulted by the Consulate General of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Permanent Missions of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the United Nations on various design projects.
Although her skill set is vast, her passion lies in visual design, brand identity design, package design, and print design.
Deborah has enjoyed working with Wellness Interactive as the Graphic Designer and Art Director of the Wellness Lounge magazine for over ten years, creating a visual identity that communicates their message.
In essence, Deborah does what she loves and loves what she does!
Born in New Jersey to Caribbean parents, DaVinci Davis is a courageous Caribbean entrepreneur, actress, and storyteller. She grew up naturally loving acting and music, leading her to become Desiree’s women’s musician. She grew up naturally loving acting and music and started writing her music at just eleven-years-old. She aspires to take it as far as her dreams carry. After college, she launched her production company specializing in film, theater, and music. Currently, under her production company, she has written a short film that has received many accolades and is now accepted in multiple festivals worldwide. She is working on her first debut album and the visual Jersey behind it. Davinci is a progressive storyteller for Wellness Interactive and creatively engages with the client on how to use and promote their stories through User Generated Content.
We were honored to have Davinci as one of Wellness Interactive’s first High School Interns. While attending High School, she volunteered after school at Wellness Interactive’s signature brand, the “Wellness Lounge.”
Ricardo Rose is an Exercise Science and Physiology Athletic Coaching professional. He is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine and Certified Personal Trainer with several fitness certifications. Ricardo has been an influencer in the fitness industry for over ten years. During his college years, he began coaching sports teams and helping to develop youth athletes. His most recent project was working with a fitness studio in Dubai, UAE, conducting fitness classes for strength, cardio, and boxing. Along with teaching, he has also developed extensive programming, giving him professional wellness and fitness experience. “Fitness and Wellness have been a positive staple in my life, and I love to share that with the people I work with,” says Ricardo.
While attending college, Ricardo began working for Wellness Interactive’s signature brand, the “Wellness Lounge,” training and implementing new programming. He also worked as a Wellness Logistical Coordinator while traveling to Beijing with Wellness Interactive hosted by the PGA. Through the many years working with Wellness Interactive, he gained knowledge in holistic wellness practices, sustainability, and homeopathic medicine.
Andreas Enehaug (the surname is luckily enough pronounced “Anyhow”) is a filmmaker from the city of Bergen on the west coast of Norway. As cliché as it may sound, he is a storyteller. He juggles the tasks of being a commercial director and a creative consultant. His biggest strength is taking the lead and the idea process regarding conceptualization, marketing, presentation, design, campaigns, etc. It is, however, important to mention that his ideas are a primary skill, not necessarily the technical execution. Interactive’s Andreas says, “He leaves that to the experts”.
After graduating from college and studying film/TV production at MetFilm School in London, UK, he obtained valuable experiences in various fields, including TV, radio, commercials, short films, documentaries, music videos, live-streaming events, podcasting, and animation.
He directed and produced the short intro to “Great Women Sculpture” for our Co-founder Desiree Watson. It was a valuable and humbling experience. He was incredibly proud to be able to contribute to such an inspiring and vital project.
